HAT CREEK, United States, Nov. 4, 2026 - A multi-year astronomical survey of the anti-solar point is being conducted using the Allen Telescope Array at Hat Creek Radio Observatory.[1] The ATA-ASP survey will collect 11 petabytes of data across four years of operation.[2] Impact Insight. The anti-solar point is the fixed position in Earth's sky directly opposite the Sun. This region is not regularly monitored by most wide field sky surveys. Systematic, long duration observation here improves baseline data for tracking both natural deep space objects and man made orbital debris.
